Pain management: People suffer from pain for a variety of reasons, including musculoskeletal problems and as a result of an illness or accident. The role of physiotherapy is to reduce this pain so that the person can live more independently and without discomfort.
Age-related health problems: Older people who have reduced mobility due to arthritis can benefit from regular physical therapy. For example, a person who has undergone joint replacement surgery will need a period of rehabilitation with physical therapy to speed up recovery. Physiotherapy can also be used to strengthen muscles, improve balance and reduce the risk of falling in very elderly patients. The benefits of physiotherapy for the health of the elderly are very high and will greatly help to improve the quality of life of the elderly.
Rehabilitation after stroke: Having a stroke often means that a person has some level of paralysis or muscle weakness. The role of physical therapy is to improve strength and enable the person to function as close as possible. Physiotherapy is the most important part of the rehabilitation program after a stroke, which will help a lot to reduce the complications after a stroke and increase the independence of these people in their daily life.
Prevention of injury or re-injury is one of the most important health benefits for people, especially athletes: physiotherapy can be used for many common diseases as a first line of attack before considering larger interventions such as surgery. This can include health problems such as joint and back pain, which helps improve mobility and strengthen muscles.
Recovery from surgery: A physical therapist can help manage recovery from surgery, slowly returning a person to full range of motion, or helping them maximize the range of motion they are currently able to perform.
Management of lung diseases: Physiotherapists in Newmarket do not only deal with external issues such as mobility. They are often involved in helping people with lung disease by doing breathing exercises that improve strength and posture.
